Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data Helio Tan collects, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the app.

We use the data we collect to:
Most of your personal information (skin profile, session history, photos) is stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage APIs. It is protected by iOS sandboxing and, on supported devices, device encryption.
Where data is processed by third-party services (see Section 5), it is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access or disclosure.
Helio Tan uses the following third-party services. Each processes only the minimum data needed for their function:

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties:
Helio Tan requests "When In Use" location permission to determine your local UV index. Location is accessed only while the app is open in the foreground. We do not store your precise location history; only an approximate coordinate is sent to the weather data provider to retrieve UV data for your area.
You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Helio Tan → Location. Without location access, UV data will not be available.
Helio Tan may request access to your photo library so you can import images for your progress journal. Photos you select are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
You can revoke photo library access at any time in iOS Settings → Helio Tan → Photos.
Helio Tan Pro users can opt in to UV alerts and session reminders. Notifications are delivered by Apple's push notification infrastructure (APNs). If you grant notification permission, a device token is shared with Apple for delivery; we do not use notification tokens for any other purpose.
You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Helio Tan.
Helio Tan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Data stored locally on your device is retained until you delete the app or clear app data. Anonymous analytics data retained by Firebase is subject to Google's standard retention periods. Subscription data retained by RevenueCat is subject to their data retention policies.
You can delete all locally stored app data by deleting Helio Tan from your device.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Because most data is stored locally on your device, you can typically exercise these rights directly by modifying or deleting app data.
For data held by third-party processors (e.g., Firebase, RevenueCat), please contact those services directly or contact us at hello@kacper-turek.com and we will assist where possible.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you within the app. Your continued use of Helio Tan after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
